The Textile Program continues the Education-Training activities by making the students be aware that knowledge can age in time and continuous learning is a must and it provides the realization of activities in accordance with the sector's needs and using up-to-date technologies. With a vision constituting cooperation with the business world by creating flexible education models and programs predicting the sector's tendencies and adapting to ever changing conditions and,
With the mission of training qualified staff thanks to techniques open to continuous change and development by not memorizing the information but using and converting it to production which can be adaptive to technological and structural developments for the continuity of the sector in consideration of rapid growth of technology; It is a unit which conducts operations for the target of increasing the number of scientific studies and the quality of educational activities.
Qualified manpower should be trained in cooperation with the business world, and developed and spread within the integration of professional and technical education system. Our program continues to develop education and training activities in accordance with the management cooperation protocol signed by the university, sector and local authorities for the activation of the facts.
The Cooperation Protocol is run by the "Board of Advisors". The Board of Advisors comprise of 1 representative from MSGSÜ, 2 from MYO, 2 from the Municipality of Fatih, and 3 representatives from İHKİB. The Board of Advisors;
a) Holds two meetings in the beginning of Summer/Fall terms, (Extraordinary meetings can be held upon request of parties)
b) Plans Periodic formal and mass education activities,
c) Makes decisions for the development of the school and realizes them.
Program development studies are conducted in consideration of changes within the sector by commissions comprised of the participation of university-sector representatives under the supervision of the board of advisors. In this context, regional sector and alumni questionnaires are applied and current secondary education and high education bachelor's and associate degrees are considered. It has been for the benefit of our graduates in their employment appropriate to their qualifications and for the development of our program and graduates as the program is located in the city of Istanbul, the heart of our country's textile and confection exportation and where efforts are made to make it a globally recognized fashion city, the cooperation protocol realized by İstanbul Hazır Giyim ve Konfeksiyon İhracatçıları Birliği also played an important role for the sector's international reputation and position.
