Vocational School of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University was established in 1987 and the Fashion-Clothing programme started first, within the premises of Sümerbank at Bakırköy-İstanbul. In 1989 the Architectural Restoration Program started in a historic primary school building (Zevki Kadın Sıbyan Mektebi) within the campus of the University at Fındıklı - İstanbul. Now this programme in the Nusretiye Kasri.
In 1997 Fashion-clothing Program moved to a building of Fatih Municipality at Yedikule-İstanbul.
In 2002, four Vocational and Technical high schools were annexed to the Vocational School of MSGSU in the form of second education (night courses) raising the total number of programs to six. With the establishment of II. Education Programs the name of the Fashion-Clothing Program changed to Textile Program. Second education programs had been closed.
